Chakra Reading

“Unlock Your Energy,
Illuminate Your Path”

A chakra reading can give you detailed information about where you may have some imbalances in your energetic system with some specific advice on how to move back into a state of energetic flow.

A chakra reading may be beneficial for you if you are experiencing:

  • Feelings of being stuck

  • Chronic stress or anxiety

  • Low self-esteem

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • Financial turmoil

  • Illness

  • Mood swings

  • Trouble communicating

  • Difficulty connecting with others

Adding optional energy work to a reading can help clear any blocks or imbalances in the energetic field.

Chakra Reading Basics

  • The study of quantum mechanics, which is the study of subatomic particles, has taught us that particles that make up atoms exhibit both particle and wave-like properties, meaning they are expressions of energy. This can be simplified to say that everything around us is made up of energy, including us and our bodies. Energy, simply put, is just information that moves.

This energy is the spark of life within all living things and can be described in any way you choose. I simply call it energy. Other terms might be soul, prana, higher self, qi, consciousness, ki, etc.

  • Our bodies have energy centers in them called chakras that are located along the vertical axis of the body from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Think of it as an energy organ that manages the energy in a specific area of the physical body, including a related set of mental and emotional matters.

Each of the seven major chakras correspond to an endocrine gland and/or a nerve plexus, meaning they are involved in our biochemistry and electromagnetic functions, which control everything from our bodily functions to our moods.

  • Chakras manage the energetic balance within us. This balance can be thrown off by everyday challenges, including stress, which triggers our sympathetic nervous system (“fight or flight”). Coping with life’s stressors can create deficient or excessive energy imbalances, and can manifest as physical pain, negative emotion, illness, compulsive habits, repetitive patterns, etc.

  • If you’re interested in the science you can look to the electrical nature of the human body. The average human body produces around 100 watts of power, which is enough electricity to power a light bulb! (Greater amounts of power can be generated during high-intensity activities). This electrical activity can be measured anywhere on the body, most commonly the heart (ECG or EKG: electrocardiogram), the brain (EEG: electroencephalogram), and the muscles (EMG: electromyogram).

The human body produces complex electrical activity in several types of cells, including neurons, endocrine, and muscles cells. These specific types of cells, called excitable cells, have a unique ability to generate and conduct electrical impulses. And as all electricity does, this activity also creates a magnetic field as stated in Ampere’s Law. This magnetic field, also called the human biofield, can then be measured in the heart (MCG: magentocardiogram), the brain (MEG: magnetoencephalogram), and the muscles (MMG: magnetomyogram). These magnetic fields induce circulating currents within the body that can stimulate nerves, muscles, behavior, and other biological processes, meaning that our body’s processes are connected to and affect each other. For example, the heart’s magnetic field is the largest biomagnetic field generated by the body, and the rhythms of the brain, the respiratory system, and blood pressure entrain with the heart’s rhythm.

The human biofield extends outside the body and carries information about a person’s health. Studying mangetograms has shows that healthy organs pulsate with a certain range of frequencies and unhealthy organs pulsate at frequencies outside of this range.

Working with the chakras and introducing vibrational, or subtle energy, with sound or Reiki can be used to balance the biofield and amplify the body’s ability to heal itself.

  • During your session we will use oracle cards to get a read on your current energy and assess where you may need to work to clear and/or activate your chakras. I will teach you the basics of the affected chakra(s). This includes the associated area of the body, what excessive/deficient/balanced energy looks like, and how to work with that specific chakra for healing and balancing.

Working with the chakras can be as simple as what food we eat, how we move our bodies, how we relate to our bodies (both mentally and emotionally), or simple daily practices.
